Advisories for Crawford County rural roads are issued by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, dated December 22, 2004, there are three levels.LEVEL 1 SNOW ALERT - Rural roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads are icy. Drive Very Cautiously.LEVEL 2 SNOW ADVISORY - Rural roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. CONTACT YOUR EMPLOYER TO SEE IF YOU SHOULD REPORT TO WORK.LEVEL 3 SNOW EMERGENCY - All rural roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. ALL EMPLOYEES SHOULD CONTACT THEIR EMPLOYER TO SEE IF THEY SHOULD REPORT TO WORK. Those traveling on the rural roadways without just cause may subject themselves to arrest.
